About the role
In this role you will support Wirral Schools to manage and monitor their finances through a Financial Support Service Level Agreement that schools choose to purchase. You will deliver good quality financial support to school finance staff on a monthly basis, and in conjunction with the headteacher provide budget setting, budget monitoring and forecast information which is approved by school governors within the deadlines stated in the Scheme for Financing Schools.
We are looking for someone who has:
- knowledge of budgets and budget monitoring
- a high level of communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- good IT skills, including Excel and Word
- an understanding of Financial Policies & Procedures
You'll need to have at least 4 GCSE's and experience of working within school finance and budget management.
You will need experience of:
- providing budget setting, budget monitoring and budget projections
- presenting financial information to budget holders
- using financial systems, preferably SIMS FMS
You will need to work at different locations and be able to attend evening meetings for finance committees and governor training. Above all you will be looking to improve the way we engage with our Wirral Schools to ensure they are at the heart of everything we do.
