An opportunity to join a team that supports vulnerable children across London.
Do you want to help London’s boroughs to support some of the capital’s most vulnerable children? Working in the London Care Services Team at London Councils, you will be helping our local authorities to provide the best care and support for looked after children.
We want to recruit someone with strong negotiating and influencing skills, and the ability to work to a demanding schedule.
The ability to understand and explain contract documentation, intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills, a keen eye for detail and a talent for working with people are essential. Experience of social care and/or commissioning of services in the public sector would be beneficial, although not essential.
The main purpose of the job is to ensure quality residential and fostering care services are available to London’s boroughs to secure placements for children in their care. This includes negotiation of prices and completion of contract documentation for those services.
London Councils represents the 32 boroughs and the City of London. We aim to get the best deal for Londoners and to ensure that London’s councils have the resources, freedoms and powers to do the best possible job for their residents and local businesses.
We also run a number of services on behalf of the boroughs including the Freedom Pass, Taxicard and Health Emergency Badge.
