The Council has two exciting opportunities to work at a senior level within the Planning Policy team. You will be required to produce and implement policies through the production of Local Plans, Supplementary Planning Documents and the management of associated projects, including CIL, neighbourhood plans, infrastructure and economic development. The roles involve assisting the Planning Policy Manager in the day to day management of the Planning Policy staff as well as management of projects.
The roles require significant planning policy experience and it is essential to be able to research, devise methodologies, collate and analyse data to progress policy and development solutions. You will also ideally have experience of managing staff and projects.
You will need full MRTPI or equivalent professional qualification or a relevant degree and Licentiate Member of the RTPI actively working towards full membership, in addition to substantial experience of preparation of the evidence base for Local Plans. Good IT and analytical skills together with a full working knowledge of the relevant legislation as applied to the development of Local Plans is also essential for these roles.
You will develop sound working relationships at a senior level with key players, including Town and Parish Councils. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Council in Development Management, and on corporate projects and activities.
We offer an excellent package, including competitive salary, career average salary pension scheme, an employee benefit scheme offering a range of discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, flexitime and discounted leisure centre membership.
