We have an exciting new job opportunity in Camden’s Integrated Learning Disabilities Service, a service recognised as good with outstanding ‘Effectiveness’ by CQC. You will join a team of mixed professionals that delivers innovative, high quality, inclusive support, responsive to the needs and strengths of people with learning disabilities and the wider community, building on our involvement in the Named Social Worker Pilot.
As Lead Practitioner, you will jointly manage the social work service that supports adults with Learning Disabilities, working closely with the Team Manager. Also, under the supervision of the Service Manager, you will hold a small complex caseload.
Camden Learning Disabilities Service is developing a Three Conversations model of Social Work - a methodology to move practitioners away from “assessing for services” to a model that focuses on people’s strengths and resources and connects peoples into their informal support networks and local communities. Strengths based working is part of both Camden Adult Social Care’s strategic plan, Supporting people, Connecting Communities and the CLDS Promise.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.
To be successful in this role you will possess strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build and maintain key working relationships across a range of levels. These include Customers, carers and other members of the public, Health colleagues and Community/Interest groups.
It is essential that you hold a Diploma in social worker or equivalent qualification, and you must be HCPC registered.
You’ll have demonstrable management experience and team building and how to put knowledge of systems working into practice. Be able to evidence your continuing professional development and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of relevant health and social care legislation and policies and procedures and ability to apply it in practice.
Camden’s main offices are located in modern, award-winning offices at King’s Cross. You can expect an exceptional range of benefits including discounted access to the onsite leisure facilities with swimming pool, recognition and reward for high performance with progression and pay increases, flexible and agile working hours and access to a leading pension scheme.
Camden is proud to be the country’s first Timewise council and as part of this accreditation, we work to help parents balance work with childcare. This fits in with our aim to be leaders in innovative, flexible and part-time working that allows for different patterns of care and for parents to share childcare responsibilities.
