About the Post:
This is an exciting time to join Barnsley Children and Family Social Care Service who have recently been judged by Ofsted to be a Good authority in October 2018. Ofsted reported that “social work practice in Barnsley is flourishing” and that “leaders and managers have created a culture in which social workers are valued, feel valued and are proud to work for Barnsley”.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed professional Social Workers at all levels. We have high aspirations to achieve the very best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people residing in the borough. This means supporting Social Workers to develop excellent assessment and analytical skills apply evidence based interventions and develop the confidence and skills to make timely decisions and plans for children that will achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for their future.
We have secured funds to support a number of additional, permanent posts across the service that will ensure the quality of service offered to children due to the manageable caseloads of their Social Workers. Vacancies are in the children and young people’s teams which manage children in need, child protection and court work.
Developing our Social Workers is a key priority for us and you will be well supported, with access to supervision, appraisal, training and development opportunities, aimed at promoting outcomes for children and supporting career development and progression.
