This role provides social media support for Medway Council.
Working within the press office, this role involves researching social media opportunities, producing a range of engaging content across all of the council’s social media channels, scheduling social media activity, supporting services which have social media accounts and reacting to ongoing matters to support the press office.
The digital communications officer is responsible for creating and delivering a variety of imaginative digital communications activities to reach and engage with local people, other target audiences and council staff.
This role will also support the work of the Medway Youth Services team and the Youth Media team. This includes assisting young people with filmmaking and helping them to develop their skills and confidence in using different multi-media techniques.
Working with colleagues in the communications team, the digital communications officer will help promote council services and support the council’s priorities, providing helpful information to residents.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join a busy team, which supports all council services. The successful candidate will have a strong writing ability and excellent understanding of social media.
