Property Services have responsibility for developing, building, running and maintaining an extensive and diverse portfolio of investment, operational and non-operational property including office buildings, fire stations, land and schools, making sure our assets are working hard for us and providing fit-for-purpose premises for staff and customers.
The role of Building Surveyor will require you to manage a team of professionals delivering maintenance projects and works of a mechanical building services nature. Working alongside a team of Surveyors and Graduates, you will be using specific Property and Project based IT systems and will need to be adaptable and competent in this area of technology.
Alongside the specific role person requirements we are looking for people who have:
- A track record of managing and delivering a variety of projects in a fast paced environment, where projects are delivered on time and to budget;
- A proven ability to deal with a substantial capital revenue budget dealing with in excess of 300 projects a year;
- Proven problem solving skills, and the ability to exercise high levels of initiative to devise and implement workable solutions.
You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be an adept negotiator with a flair for influencing others, and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability to work at pace, be innovative and have a genuine interest in making a difference and a real change for the people of Surrey. You'll also have a proven ability to inspire and motivate others.
