About the post:
The Childcare Quality Improvement Team is a small team within the Childcare Services Team. The team are responsible for giving support, advice and guidance to the early year’s sector in Barnsley.
We are looking to recruit a Quality Improvement Officer on a fixed term contract until 31st December 2019.
The successful candidate will work with local childcare settings (including childminders, out of school clubs and day care providers), to support quality improvement. We are seeking candidates who are able to work at management level, as the successful candidate will be required to provide duty management cover within the Family Centres as and when required. Significant knowledge of childcare and current legislation is essential; together with the high level of written, verbal and inter-personal skills as this is a key advisory role to the private and independent sector.
The applicant will need to be able to work flexibly and be able to travel across the borough. Some occasional evening and weekend work is required.
The role will suit someone who has significant experience of working in early years and would like the opportunity to gain an insight into the role of a Quality Improvement Officer.
