My Place is the Council’s landlord and managing agent, managing all existing property, infrastructure and land related contracts on its behalf.
The teams within My Place are responsible for all aspects of managing our property ranging from our highways, corporate and commercial buildings, schools and of course our housing stock. It is an enormous challenge, and this is a fantastic opportunity to become involved in a business such as this with huge ambition and very real immediate demands.
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who will be will be responsible for the delivery of the planned investment Repairs and Maintenance services to My Place assets, focusing on the Council’s building and commercial units. This will include schools’ buildings, where planned investment and Repairs and Maintenance services have been specifically commissioned from My Place, and Housing Stock as required.
Experience of heating and ventilation, large industrial plant rooms and equipment, such as boilers pumps and distribution networks would be advantageous.
You will require excellent communication skills, a flexible approach to work is essential as you may be required to cover out of hours emergency situations. You will be committed to teamwork and working with external organisations have a positive ‘can do’ approach to resolving problems and issues. To be successful in this role you must be self-motivated, self-disciplined and committed to delivering a customer-oriented service. You must be a member of a relevant professional Institution e.g. MIME, etc, Gas Safe Registered / has been registered as well as having adequate experience in the management of Gas and Mechanical Engineering
