A brand new role for you. A chance to shape a workforce for the future.
A beautiful, historic district with a high quality of life, Uttlesford is thriving. And we’re determined to support its growth and provide superb services. It means adapting to a fast-changing 21stcentury local government landscape and building a workforce that’s free to evolve and perform at its very best. As our HR Manager, you’ll be a catalyst for change, shaping our hard-working team.
Working closely with senior management, you’ll draw on your expertise to make an impact within and beyond the Council. By shaping HR and through organisational development, you’ll help us create a committed workforce that’s equipped to deliver the services on which our residents depend. It’s a chance to lead workforce development, but also refresh HR policy and practice, and lead vital Admin and Payroll functions. Meanwhile, day to day tasks will include efficient case management and helping managers navigate service restructures. At the heart of what you do will be an effective People Plan. This will set out our approach to developing talent, succession planning and training requirements.
To join our forward-thinking organisation, you’ll need in-depth knowledge of HR best practice. Your expertise will be based on a CIPD qualification (or equivalent), plus solid experience in organisational development and workforce planning. You’ll also have the people skills to collaborate Council-wide and help teams deliver change. If you can bring strategic thinking and motivation too, join us in this exciting and newly created role.
