We are currently recruiting for a Head of Service to form part of the leadership Team for Birmingham Childrens Trust Independent Reviewing Service.
Working to the Assistant Director safeguarding and supported by two Assistance Heads, we require a Head of Service able to lead a strong team of Independent Reviewing officers.
Birmingham has a large and culturally and socially diverse population, including a high proportion of children and young people. Birmingham Children Trust is committed to forward thinking and improving the outcomes for children and young people and the Reviewing Service is central to supporting the Trust ambitions in this area.
We are looking for and experienced Social Work manager with a proven track record of delivering high quality services based on their own solid experience of direct working and practice with children and young people in statutory and regulated service. You will be required to manage the effective delivery of the Reviewing Service, ensuring the quality of work across the team by providing high quality supervision, management direction, advice and professional consultation for staff within the team.
You will be required to support the trust social learning work by providing high support and challenge to their services for looked after children and care leavers, contributing to the development of policy and strategy ensuring the team and wider service is effective, adapts to change and delivers good outcomes for children and young people.
You will need to be a qualified social worker registered with the HCPC and with substantial experience [minimum five years post-qualified] and previous social care management or direct experience as an Independent Reviewing Officer.
