The Environmental Protection Team is looking for a highly-motivated team member with a passion for helping people and protecting the environment to join us in delivering the councils responsibilities in Environmental Protection.
You will be involved in the investigation of complaints and service requests from members of the public and reviewing initial planning applications. You will be the Local Site Operator (calibration of Air Quality Stations), diffusion tubes mainly in the Tunbridge Wells area but also in the Maidstone area. You will also be involved in inspection of permitted premises. We also offer the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge in air quality, acoustics and land contamination.
The successful candidate will need a relevant BTEC Environmental Health or Equivalent HNC/HND in Science or equivalent, a working knowledge of the Environmental Protection area of Environmental Health. Experience in the field of Environmental Protection area would be an advantage but candidates with experience in relevant similar work areas or those who have recently qualified in relevant disciplines will also be considered. This post would be ideally suited to someone who is a newly qualified EHO or who has and environmental science qualification. The role may also be suitable for someone who has completed a degree level apprenticeship such as the Regulatory Compliance Officer course.
While practical experience is preferable full practical training can be provided to the right applicant.
