We are currently recruiting for a Contract Monitoring Officer within Waste Services to assist the Contract Services Manager in managing and monitoring the full range of services within the duties allocated.
The current contracts for street cleansing and kerbside waste collections is fulfilled by Veolia, the service provider is changing in October to a Joint Venture the post holder will be expected to monitor the standard being achieved by the current contractor and assist in implementing a monitoring schedule for the new Joint Venture.
You will be required to carry out site inspections, investigations; monitor contractors' health and safety, compile monitoring information and prepare regular reports on contractors’ performance.
Applicants will be required to investigate complaints, liaise with Customer Services, Community Officers and the contractor to ensure that appropriate action has been taken in dealing with complaints;
You will be required to response to correspondence from members of the public and Councillors.
You will be required to assist in preparing modifications, variations and arranging 'ad hoc' requirements to contracted services.
You will be developing and promoting relationships and joint working arrangements with other Councils, through forums and community action teams and to be aware of potential changes in legislation affecting the services and their effects on service delivery.
You must hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to a car to be suitable for this position.
