Wokingham Borough Council is looking for an experienced local government finance specialist to be part of the Council’s expanding finance support to the Adult Social Care directorate. 
 
You will be the support to budget managers working in the Adult Social Care Directorate and will provide regular reports to the Director of Adult Social Services (DASS), the Assistant Director and the Directorate Leadership Team; providing timely and high-quality strategic and technical financial advice, ensuring the continuity of sound financial management, governance and value for money.  You will provide finance oversight and scrutiny to the ASC improvement programme, an in-house review of processes with the directorate. 
 
Reporting to the Senior Specialist for ASC finance, your role will be part of the ASC Finance Team, providing of guidance and support to the directorate budget managers as well as developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders. 
 
To be considered for the role you must be a qualified or part qualified accountant with management and leadership experience some of which would have been gained in the local government sector – exceptionally a candidate who can demonstrate ‘qualification by experience’ will be considered.  Experience of working in Adult Social Care finance is considered desirable for this role.
