Brent’s impressive Civic Centre is located right next to Wembley stadium and just a 12 minute train ride from Baker Street and a 21 minute train ride from Kings Cross
Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.
The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.
The many development and regeneration projects underway in Brent make this a challenging and rewarding time to be a planning lawyer for Brent.
Following a recent restructure we are looking for two planning lawyers a leading Senior Planning Lawyer and an assistant Planning Lawyer to join our in-house Legal Service’s Commercial Team.
The Senior Planning Lawyer will be required to provide cutting edge advice on complex Planning and Regeneration matters to Brent’s dynamic Planning and Regeneration services.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to supervise junior staff and deputise in the absence of the Senior Property Planning and Regeneration Lawyer.
The Assistant Planning Lawyer will be required to assist the Senior Planning Lawyer with major development projects and deputise when necessary for the Senior Planning Lawyer as well as holding a substantial caseload of their own.
Applicants for the senior post will need to demonstrate substantial relevant experience and their ability to work to a high level, and provide specialist and proactive legal advice on complex and often urgent matters. The Assistant Planning Lawyer will need to demonstrate some relevant experience and the ability and enthusiasm to develop their expertise through their own case work and through working with the Senior Planning Lawyer on the most complex matters.
If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding work in a demanding but supportive environment, this may be the opportunity you have been waiting for
