Working within a newly created team, this is an exciting opportunity to work for London’s second largest borough.
Reporting into the Senior Communications Service Manager, you will be a key player in the communications team and have frequent contact with senior politicians and officers.
Whether your background is in the private or public sector, this role is your opportunity to join a large council during what is an interesting and challenging time for local government.
As a Media and Campaigns Officer, you’ll be responsible for communicating the council’s priorities and will be charged with delivering high quality and cost effective external and internal communications, delivering campaigns, producing marketing materials, undertaking proactive and reactive media relations, driving change and protecting the reputation of the organisation.
You will have the chance to work on various high-profile stories including issues specific to Hillingdon such as unaccompanied asylum seeking children, High Speed Rail 2 and the Heathrow expansion debate.
About the person
You will have a strong understanding of how the media works and delivering campaigns. In addition you’ll have a sound understanding of digital communication channels and online media to help deliver the transformation of services to residents.
