These are exciting times for our ICT service. As our new ICT Technical Services Manager, you’ll have a pivotal role to play in future proofing our ICT service delivery.
Initially, your key focus will be ensuring that the Council’s infrastructure is fit for purpose – establishing a schedule of replacement/upgrading, as necessary. You will also support an organisational wide Digital Strategy that will encourage channel shift and make services more accessible to residents through web based technology.
Longer term, you will investigate how best to utilise our off-site data centre. You’ll also carry out annual PSM and PCI compliance checks and other work which safeguard the security and resilience of our systems and processes.
This an interesting and varied role in which you will find that no two days are the same. As the Council’s ICT technical expert, you will be able to influence and shape both the strategy and delivery of ICT services. You’ll work closely with ICT and senior colleagues across the council in delivering a breadth of projects that support the delivery of the corporate plan.
This role provides an ideal opportunity for technically competent ICT professionals seeking their next career step. It’s also perfect for more senior ICT experts, attracted by the breadth of the role, who want to make a difference that delivers real value to the community.
You’ll have a solid background of technical expertise in ICT infrastructure and ensuring it is robust, resilient and secure. This will come with a demonstrable track record of project management or ICT business change/improvement – evidencing both your technical skill set and ability to drive a project or service improvement initiative from conception through to completion.
You’ll be a strong ‘hands on’ manager who is able to get the very best out of people. Furthermore, you’ll be able to convey technical issues and solutions to service managers in a language they can understand and which gains their buy-in.
