A rewarding opportunity has arisen in the Community Relations Team to work as Equality and Engagement Officer. You’ll have an important part to play in leading, facilitating and supporting an inclusive approach to engaging and involving people with the protected characteristics of the Equality Act in all aspects of policy and service development and implementation. This includes ensuring that managers and commissioners are supported to develop robust equality impact assessments and delivering best practice engagement. At a time of change and budget pressures, this work is more important than ever in ensuring that decision makers understand the impact proposals will have on individuals and the community. You will be working within a small team which tackles a wide range of work in a sympathetic, proactive and innovative manner.
We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who has experience of equality and engagement work.
