Woodlands Primary School is looking for a Catering Supervisor to join their hard-working, friendly, catering team. The role is for 25-30 hours per week (hours to be discussed at interview).
Woodlands is a large, two site, primary school, with two separate kitchens. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Supervisor to join our team within the Junior kitchen and work alongside our Infant Supervisor and team of four Catering Assistants.
The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our junior school's catering services, ensuring high-quality food production, and maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding food safety standards.
• Responsibilities:
- to manage and supervise the catering staff in food preparation, cooking, and service - ensure all snacks and meals are prepared in accordance with dietary requirements and school guidelines - monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed - maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area - train and oversee staff members on food handling procedures - implement and enforce food safety regulations - collaborate with school administration to plan menus and special events - address any customer concerns or feedback promptly and professionally
• Requirements:
- proven experience in culinary arts, food production, or a related field - strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team - good commuication skills to interact with school staff, kitchen team and children - knowledge of food safety standards and regulations - previous experience in supervising staff members - ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail - understanding of menu planning and meal preparation techniques - ideally experience in a school or hotel setting is advantageous
