Tunbridge Wells Borough Council is looking for a Procurement Officer to provide support to our recently expanded procurement partnership with Maidstone and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Councils (known collectively as TMT Procurement Partnership). You will be providing advice and guidance on the appropriate procurement processes to key stakeholders and contract managers, ensuring that they are followed compliantly. The role will also be tasked with supporting our aims of transitioning to a category management approach (where feasible) and providing administrative support for key tasks such as spend reporting and purchasing card reconciliations.
What you will have
- A degree, or a vocational equivalent with a minimum of 2 years work experience in an office environment or customer facing role
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously, and prioritise workloads
- A keen eye for detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach and mindset
- A strong desire to achieve professional qualifications

This role will require a blended working approach, with a mix of remote working and office days. Your initial induction will be undertaken in the office, and the rest of your on-boarding will follow this blended approach. The mix will vary in line with the requirements of the organisation and workloads. This will require you to be self-sufficient and driven in order to achieve outcomes which are set on a weekly basis.
