Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities, and nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
The role
The main purpose of this role is to develop street trading opportunities in Camden, and deliver and develop projects that link to the Council’s vision. Our aim is to create safe, welcoming vibrant markets and street trading sites with affordable goods for sale that serve all communities, ensuring a strong social media presence.
This role hugely involves managing and developing Camden Market’s retail portfolio ensuring that the highest possible standard of service delivery is achieved. In this role you will be required to monitor performance, maximise profitability and effectively implement service improvement to the highest quality, ensuring the integration of the Market and street trading with the surrounding retail and business environment. A key part of this role is to work effectively across the Council to ensure our focus is to deliver the Council’s priorities, testing initiatives in our markets and street trading sites.
About you
We are looking for someone with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders to enable effective and timely development of all street trading. You will have the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines and conflicting demands.
You will have strong leadership and motivation skills, combined with experience of developing, managing and monitoring supplier contracts. You will have a track record of directly leading and managing staff and resources in the delivery of multiple projects.
You will be experienced working with multiple stakeholders on the delivery of a community focused market/street trading service and experience of strategic management and planning.
Knowledge of managing social media accounts to promote our markets and using platforms to create newsletters to communicate with our traders and other interested individuals/groups would also be of an advantage.
