About the role

Bracknell Forest is changing. Whilst a major regeneration project re-energises Bracknell town centre, Bracknell Forest Council is also undertaking a major long-term Transformation Programme that will change how our services are delivered. Underpinning our transformation is an ICT Strategy which will improve flexibility and productivity, playing a vital role in shaping the council’s future.

We are an ambitious council that has a firm grasp on the journey ahead. These are challenging yet exciting times for the council and this post will place our new Chief Officer at the very heart of what is to come.

In this pivotal and influential role, you’ll help ensure the council maximises the benefits of technology, and creates capacity working with other leaders to look holistically at how services are delivered as we move forward with our transformation agenda.

Positive steps have already been made. We now need to accelerate delivery of the ICT Strategy and ensure we continue to deliver a credible ICT

support service.

The successful candidate will understand the potential of ICT and be able to articulate and deliver a clear vision of how it can enhance our services and reduce our costs.

About you

You’ll be able to analyse changing situations quickly, and contribute strongly to strategic forward planning. We’d expect you to show both strong influencing skills and political sensitivity, whilst able to find new ways to meet information challenges and have the drive and determination to see them through.

You will of course have significant experience at Chief Officer or Senior Manager level in ICT services in the public or private sector and the ability to inspire, lead and develop a team of IT professionals. You will also be able to contribute to the wider corporate agenda and challenges we face.
