Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) 

Bickerton Holy Trinity Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed HLTA to work 32.5 hours a week.

The successful candidate will:

• be able to build effective working relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues and will adapt their approach to meet the needs of all pupils
• passionate about securing positive outcomes for children.
• highly motivated, organised, and flexible in the way you work to best meet children’s needs.
• an effective communicator, highly skilled in building positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and professionals.
• able to utilise planning and resourcing when covering a class.
• reliable, flexible, and willing to support the school in moving children’s learning on

You will be responsible for:

• Working with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
• Promoting pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
• Giving support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
• Providing class cover including PPA, subject leadership time and staff absence
• Delivering Read, Write, Inc Phonics to a small group daily

The successful candidate will:

• Meet HTLA standards or equivalent qualification or experience
• Demonstrable levels of numeracy and literacy equivalent to GCSE (A-C)
• Have previous experience of working effectively within a school setting.
• Have a good standard of written and spoken English and a general understanding of Maths.
