We are looking for a Facilities Management Officer to work in the Facilities Management (FM) team providing facility services and compliance checks to the council community and other corporate buildings.
About the role
You will work in a fast paced mobile environment in various buildings across the borough of Reading as part of the wider Facilities Management team. This role would be ideally suited to someone with experience of carrying out building compliance and other checks, some basic repairs in a corporate type buildings with great customer care attributes and an eye for detail or someone who would like to broaden their skill base into something different.
This is an exciting and varied role in a fast-paced environment. Your main duties will include:
- To be carrying out compliance and building checks in community centres and other council buildings and either be trained or willing to undertake this training
- To carry out health and safety and other checks and lead in emergency situations such as first aid
- Provide inductions to visitors and contractors on site to provide access and facilitate specialist repairs are carried out safely.
- To provide customer care to hirers and building users.

About you
- Experience of working with the public
- Excellent customer care
- You will have compliance or safety related experience
- An appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety and experience of carrying out statutory compliance tasks in corporate buildings
- Experience of undertaking basic repairs and maintenance work.
- Ability to be flexible and work from different sites and have a clean driving licence.
- Able to work some evenings and weekends as overtime.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding.
- Commitment to further training as required.
