Your focus will be both on forward planning and quick responses to emerging issues.  Securing the Mayor’s trust and building strong relationships across the council and beyond, a problem-solving approach, excellent communication skills – including drafting of speeches/speaking notes and managing social media, and juggling competing pressures to meet deadlines will all be essential.   </p>\n\n <p>You will work flexibly, with at least 3 days a week in the office or in person meetings and some out of normal hours working (evenings and weekends).  </p>\n\n <p>This post is established under Regulation 3 of the Local Authorities (Elected Mayor and Mayor’s Assistant) (England) Regulations 2002 and is politically restricted under section 2(1) of the Local Government & Housing Act 1989. </p> <p><b>IMPORTANT: If you are an LBN member of staff and applying for this role as a secondment you should note that secondments are subject to the agreement of your current employing service.
