The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Civil Enforcement Supervisor to lead our team of Civil Enforcement Officers. This role is vital in ensuring the effective enforcement of parking regulations, and public Space Protection Orders (PSPO). You will oversee day-to-day operations, provide leadership, and ensure that the team delivers a high standard of service.
The role with have direct reporting Senior officers and assume total supervision of the enforcement team when the other Supervisor is absent.
Your responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily enforcement activities to ensure fair and consistent application of regulations. You will act as a key point of contact for your team, providing guidance, support, and motivation to help them deliver excellent service. In this role, you will also manage public interactions, addressing complaints, disputes, and enquiries with professionalism and a focus on resolution.
As a supervisor, you will ensure that all enforcement activities are carried out in accordance with legislation, Council policies, and health and safety standards. Additionally, you will review the work of your team to verify accuracy, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with regulations and organisational standards

Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Supervise and support a team of Civil Enforcement Officers, ensuring compliance with Council policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Operational Oversight: Plan and allocate daily work schedules, monitor enforcement activities, and respond to operational challenges.
- Training and Development: Deliver training to team members and provide regular feedback to support their development and ensure compliance with legislation.
- Customer Service: Handle escalated complaints and enquiries from the public professionally and efficiently.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure that enforcement activities comply with legal and Council requirements. Maintain accurate records and produce reports on enforcement activities.
- Problem-Solving: Address operational challenges, resolve disputes, and manage any incidents effectively.
- Enforcement: Checking vehicles in car parks and in-street enforcement areas to ensure they comply with the parking order and legislation
- Evidence: Collecting evidence of PSPO offences and conduct blue badge misuse investigations

About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about parking enforcement and who possesses the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, ideally within enforcement or a related field. Managing a small team on a daily basis
- Strong knowledge of parking and traffic regulations, as well as relevant legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage difficult situations professionally.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Competent in using enforcement-related software and systems
