Adur & Worthing Councils’ Public Health and Regulation Team cover Food Safety and Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Licensing and Environmental Protection. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and diligent person to join our small, vibrant Licensing Team primarily supporting the Taxi & Private Hire Licensing function.
This is a 12 month fixed term appointment within a team carrying out the Councils’ statutory licensing functions.
This is a varied role and duties include, but are not limited to; accepting and processing applications, checking vehicles and documentation, dealing with telephone & email enquiries, typing letters, producing licences, inputting data onto our computer system, taking payments, scanning and taking service requests from businesses and members of the public on the phone, by email or face to face.
You will have excellent communication and keyboard skills and be adaptable to deal with a variety of situations and tasks. You will need to be able to work under pressure and be able to prioritise your own workload. You will also be able to work as part of a team but also have the ability to work on your own initiative.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail as in some instances strict Government deadlines have to be met.
This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
