As The Observatory School grows, we are adding to a team which has high expectations and sets high standards for both pupils and colleagues.
To support our growing provision, expanding staff team along with increased pupil numbers, we have a number of Level 2 Teaching Assistant vacancies across the three school sites, Vyner campus, Leasowe Campus and Solar Campus (Key Stages 2, 3 & 4)

The role of a Teaching Assistant is to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision both inside and outside of the classroom.

This may involve delivering learning activities for individuals or groups and will include monitoring pupils, assessing, recording and reporting on pupils, achievement, progress and development.
You will play a key part in this journey by supporting a team of Assistant Headteachers, Heads of School, Executive Headteacher and Governors in the delivery of the school primary aims and objectives.

Your knowledge, skills and experience are important but so will be your emotional intelligence and resilience. You will be empathetic and compassionate but have the ability to set clear boundaries and expectations.

The Observatory School is an extraordinary place of work and to meet our team's expectations, you will be an extraordinary individual with a proven track record.
Expectations are high, challenges you have never faced before will come from all directions and the onus will be on you to meet them in line with the vision of school.

In return we offer the opportunity to work with our area's most extraordinary children along with the area's most resilient, cohesive and supportive staff team, where a working day is never the same as the last.
The school is truly a remarkable place and if you feel you would like to embark on the adventure, please take the opportunity visit the school before application.

To request an application pack or to arrange a visit, please email the HR Manager (Kate Smith) directly at recruitment@theobservatoryschool.wirral.sch.uk

Due to high volumes of applications, the school will be operating a rolling interview process whereby candidates may be invited to interview following receipt of their application should the essential criteria be met.

The closing date is 28th November 2025
