We are currently recruiting for an Occupational Therapist to join our Intake Team to carry out occupational therapy assessments of service users living in the community to identify their needs for and provision of adaptations and equipment .
You will be required to contribute to the delivery of highly effective Occupational Therapy Services within Adult Social Care; taking responsibility for working and managing a caseload within a framework of appropriate supervision, dependent upon the complexities of these cases and the Occupational Therapist’s experience.
The post holder will adhere to and uphold the codes of conduct set out by Medway Council, the HCPC and The College of Occupational Therapy.
You will assess the needs of adults with a disability and families/ carers to recommend the provision of equipment, adaptations, housing solutions options and a range of enablement techniques/ programmes, using evidence based practice to consider the best outcomes , including the environment thereby maximizing and maintain independence.
The successful applicant will develop an Occupational Therapy re-enablement and prevention programme to continually improve the services available to service users and to enable optimal independence in the community.
You will provide front line support and advice to the public including visits to groups to advise on access needs, dealing with OT enquiries, complaints and information requests.
Applicants will undertake office based administration support and provide admin support to service users such as medical letters, client reports, ordering equipment and financial assessments to ensure that the full programme available is efficiently delivered.
You will be required to be competent in all areas of the Medway Skills and Competency framework for Occupational Therapists.
