· Based at Mercian Close, Ilkeston, but likely to involve home working and travel to other locations.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a new post working to improve access to credit and savings for low income Derbyshire residents.
The role is based within the Public Health department at Derbyshire County Council, to work closely alongside the Welfare Rights Service and Derbyshire Discretionary Fund, and joins a wide range of activity to address social, economic and environmental factors which impact on people’s health. The purpose of the role is to work to improve the financial wellbeing of Derbyshire residents by promoting access to affordable lending and improving financial capability amongst disadvantaged communities
Key activities of the role include:
· To receive referrals from a variety of sources, providing advice and support to residents to access safe, low-cost lending in Derbyshire, including from applicants referred from the Derbyshire Discretionary Fund
· Support residents facing financial difficulties to access relevant support services.
· Deliver training for a range of professionals and residents
· Attend events to promote the project and respond to a range of enquires from professionals and members of the public
· Carry out evaluation activity for the project.

Salary range
- £29,719 - £31,691 per year
