Ealing Facilities Management delivers comprehensive facilities services to a large portfolio of buildings across London Borough of Ealing, including cleaning services to around 115 buildings.

The permanent cleaning operative post will require a flexible approach to shift working and location of work within the council and whilst a regular site and roster pattern will be agreed the post holder may be required adapt to changes in the roster and site to meet the needs of the service.

You will:

  • undertake team and individual work as a cleaning operative across various sites
  • clean according to agreed schedules for sites including clearing waste bins on floors, washing, dusting, polishing, vacuum cleaning, sweeping, mopping as appropriate and cleaning tasks within cleaning specification. Undertake ad hoc cleaning tasks as directed by the cleaning manager.

Work 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Successful candidates will need the following:

  • demonstrable previous cleaning experience
  • Hold a Full UK license.
  • understanding and working awareness and of relevant Health and Safety procedures and systems including COSHH, Manual Handling, Personal Protective Equipment, Slips Trips and Falls etc sufficient to safely work without direct supervision, working well in a team and understanding of reporting accident, incident and near miss.
  • effective verbal and written communication skills including ability to liaise with stakeholders and monitor cleaning comments books.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
