Charnwood Borough Council in Leicestershire is searching for the latest member of The Void and Decants Team.

We are looking for a passionate individual who is customer focused, a team player and wants help improve our local communities in Charnwood.

The Council is recruiting for an Assistant Repairs Team Leader, this is a fixed term contract up to September 2026, with the intention to extend.

We are looking for a repairs professional with experience in dealing with complex cases such as decants or disrepair and minor adaptations in voids. They will assist in the management of our in-house voids team and external contractors to deliver a high-quality void / decant service.

You will oversee the end-to-end process of decant repairs management and adaptations in voids monitoring all parts of these processes, and taking action to achieve fast re-let times and minimizing rent loss.

As a key member of the Void / Decant Service Management Team, you will work closely with colleagues from within the service and other departments to develop our void / decant service and improve performance.

You will have experience managing contractors and the ability to manage contractors, analyze performance information, and use external and internal customer insights to identify and deliver improvements.

You should have relevant maintenance related experience and a good knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, basic property surveying techniques and SOR codes

You must be able to drive and will be provided with a vehicle to undertake site visits across the Borough.
