Assistant Caretaker

Parkview was opened in Sheerwater in January 2009 and is a light, bright, welcoming Centre for the whole community. Facilities include a large drop-in cafe area in which to relax and enjoy time with friends, multi-use spaces for events and activities and a friendly reception area for meeting and greeting.

This role is to assist the Caretaker for 18 hours per week (preferably worked Monday – Friday, working pattern can be negotiated) and some out of hours work is requested to help open and close the building.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the centre is well presented and clean at all times
  • Providing basic DIY, building maintenance and basic gardening as required.
  • Assisting in the preparation of the Centre’s Meeting rooms for various functions

The job involves contact with vulnerable adults. Successful applicants will be required to obtain an enhanced DBS Certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service. Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.
