Required for 06 January 2026, the Governors of St John’s CE Primary School are seeking to appoint two highly motivated, energetic, and caring Teaching Assistants to work with and contribute to our successful and hardworking team. The posts are fixed term on an annual basis as they are subject to SEN High Needs funding for two specific children and will continue on satisfactory performance and continuation of funding. One post is to work within Key Stage 1, with a child on a one-to-one basis and the second post is to work within Key Stage 2, with a child on a one-to-one basis.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic teaching assistant who is keen to develop their skills.

The children and staff are looking for someone who:

  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed to raising standards further
  • Has high levels of patience, understanding, integrity and professionalism;
  • Has a sound understanding of safeguarding requirements in school;
  • Has excellent communication skills at all levels and is a team player;
  • High expectations of themselves and pupils
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Experience of working with/supporting pupils with additional needs including medical, behavioural or language/communication needs
  • Prepared to attend training after school, overtime payments will be made.
  • Has a commitment to supporting the school’s Christian Vision, ethos and values.

Due to the nature of the work, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate must be able to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure (via the Disclosure & Barring Service DBS) in order to be appointed to the post.

Salary range
