You will work in a busy Youth Offending Team in Kent, which covers a large and diverse geographical area. This is a vital post, working to support multi-agency staff as part of a dedicated team to service Courts and Referral Panels, supervise reparation programmes and work with young people subject to orders of the Court.
You will need to enjoy the company of young people, some of whom can be challenging. Experience of working with disaffected young people is therefore essential, as are good communication skills and a good general education. Training will be provided if a relevant qualification is not held. There is access to a robust training programme leading to a recognised Youth Justice Board qualification.
The post will require flexible working, which may involve evenings and weekends.
Kent Youth Service is committed to safeguarding young people, and this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Criminal Records Bureau.
