We are seeking to recruit several enthusiastic, hard working team players who are committed to customer care.
As a member of frontline library staff, the majority of your work will involve customer service, receiving and issuing books and other items, helping customers with the public-access computers and a range of clerical duties. You will also assist with various stock procedures and any marketing/promotional activities.
You will be required to work as part of a team and on your own initiative when necessary. You will be expected to promote a positive image of the Library Service at all times and to have a flexible approach to work.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. You should be physically fit and able to evidence a clear commitment towards working with people of all ages, particularly with children and teenagers. Previous library experience would be advantageous, although full training will be given.
You will join a team at one of our libraries, but you may be required to work at any library in the borough at times.
