About the job
Working with our dedicated staff at Merrifield House in Hayes you’ll be part of a team who provide care and support to approx seven Children and young people (per shift) aged between 5 years and 18 years, all of whom have complex additional needs. You will take a lead role in providing personal care support to the children during the night. To wake them in the morning and contribute effectively in the tasks of preparing the young people for the day (personal care etc) and morning handover.
About the person
Along with an NVQ level 3 in childcare, or the commitment to achieving the revised qualification Quality Credit Frame work level 3 Diploma, it’s essential that you have a real understanding of helping young people with complex needs. This demands creativity, energy, substantial life experience and plenty of initiative. Most importantly you must have a positive regard for young people and an ability to form and maintain positive, professional relationships. Ideally with previous experience in residential care you will have life and / or work experience of vulnerable children with challenging behavior.
