In keeping with the aims and principles of Care Matters we are appointing a Virtual School Head to lead the continued drive for improved education attainment for children and young people in care in Tower Hamlets.
This is an exciting opportunity to combine head teacher and corporate parenting responsibilities on behalf of Tower Hamlets in respect of the education for children in care. It will involve raising the profile of education within social care and raising the profile of children in care within education settings. This will include children in care placed within Tower Hamlets and children in care to Tower Hamlets placed in other local authorities. The Virtual School Head would also have operational responsibility for the work of the Education of Children in Public Care team and all the functions it performs.
This post is open to qualified teachers who have substantial management experience at a senior level of supporting vulnerable children in education settings
