Gloucester Guildhall Background

Gloucester Guildhall is a multi-roomed and multi-functional venue with a 400 capacity live venue, 120 capacity cinema, dance studio, café/bar, art gallery and meeting rooms. All the rooms are used for a wide range of activities. Daytime is predominately meetings and conference trade and the evenings and weekends see a wide variety of entertainment and culturally based activities. These include live bands (from household names to tributes to local stars), comedy events, cabaret, theatre, celebrity appearances, club nights, theme nights, films, educational events, workshops, art events and much more.

Venue Assistant
Grade B £15,039 – £16,054 per annum Pro Rata
19 hours per week on an annualised hours basis mainly evenings and weekends including Bank Holidays.

To assist the Operations Coordinators and Duty Managers in ensuring the effective, sympathetic and efficient operation of the Gloucester Guildhall’s buildings and its programme of activities, projects and festivals concentrating throughout on maintaining high levels of presentation and customer satisfaction.

This is a very varied role which will see the post holder carrying out a wide variety of tasks ranging from collecting tickets or looking after bands to setting up conference rooms or equipment for workshops.

We would expect the successful candidate to have had some experience of working in a venue environment and some relevant skills but full training will be given.

Hours of work average at 19 hours per week on a fixed rota basis, evenings and weekends, with very occasional weekday requirements.
