Here in Twickenham, we are aiming to make our Town Centre a vibrant heart of the local community. The Twickenham Town Centre Management Board (TTCM B) is driving this vision, working closely in partnership with the Council and local businesses and residents to create a better place for people to live, work, shop and visit.

Given Twickenham’s status as a globally recognised sporting town, you will be required to contribute towards some complex and unique challenges. The large number of visitors the town experiences, coupled with its distinctive and vibrant culture, mean that you will have to be adaptable and able to communicate effectively with senior officers, politicians, retailers and the public.

You will be required to contribute to delivering the Town Centre Business Plan and report directly to the Town Centre Management Board. This includes business and community representatives and as well as senior Councillors and officials. It has three Working Groups covering Inward Investment, Transport and Environment, and Promotion and Events. The Board has an agreed Action Plan, consisting of the following objectives;

1. To target high quality retailers to invest in the Town Centre, including specialist retailers and to improve the quality of the retail offer;

2. To make access improvements to the town centre for the benefit of all users;

3. To raise the profile and image of Twickenham Town Centre (TTC) through effective marketing to target customers, existing businesses and potential investors;

4. To achieve a high quality environment for the benefit of those who live, work, shop and spend their leisure time in the town centre;

5. To work with local community organisations on community initiatives which will benefit the town centre.

The ideal candidate will have experience of developing effective strategies to drive improvements in a town centre or retail destination, as well as having a detailed understanding of the factors that influence the vitality and viability of town centres.
Applications from people seeking a secondment opportunity are also welcomed.
