Pending a review and restructure of the Council’s Neighbourhood Services department, the Council is looking for a full time temporary EH Manager to oversee the day to day service delivery. To head up our Environmental Health Team for a minimum of 6 months, we are looking for a fully qualified Environmental Health Officer (EHORB Registered) with substantial local authority experience in all aspects of Environmental Health work, including experience of managing a team of front line officers. Commitment to high quality, customer focused service delivery and achieving positive public health outcomes is a must. You will need to be a confident, organised, outward looking team player who is able to initiate and manage change.

Reporting to the Neighbourhood Services Manager you will require good operational management skills and the ability to lead, motivate and develop staff to ensure the needs of the business are met. Excellent communication and IT skills are essential as are experience of working with elected members and other agencies. A management qualification is desirable.

As this job involves contact with children and/or vulnerable adults, successful applicants will be required to obtain a Standard Disclosure Certificate from the Criminal Records Bureau. Assistance will be given by the Council and further details will be in the job application pack.
