Based at the Asylum Seekers & Refugees Service, Tenterden Street, Bury.
Available for 12 months, working 20 hours per week, 8.45am to 1pm, with a requirement to cover additional hours for sickness and holidays, you will be an active and self motivated person with general handy person skills. Your duties will include the cleaning and maintenance of properties within the community. You will be expected to ensure the security of the properties and to assist other staff with the meeting and greeting of service users and assisting service users with luggage and to drive a vehicle. Heavy lifting and assisting with the purchase of goods and services is also a requirement of the post.
You must have a minimum of 2 years’ driving experience and no more than 3 points on your full driving licence.
A Criminal Records Bureau check at the appropriate level is required and you will be required to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority in line with the relevant timescales.
- Important Information for Candidates
The 4 weekly pay for the position of Caretaker is currently £556.52 (Manual Pay Grade 6) and hours of work will be 20 per week.
It is proposed that a new pay structure will be introduced on 1 September 2009 that will replace the current pay arrangements. The proposed grade for this post under the new structure is Grade 5 with a proposed salary of £7,884 to £8,416 per annum for 20 hours per week.
If you are successful you will be appointed within the current grade but it is proposed that your salary will change to the new grade when the new pay structure is implemented on 1 September 2009.
