Environmental Services is one of our largest and most varied sections. Each day will be different, a different query, complaint, or work improvement. Much of your customer contact will be by telephone and your customer service skills must be professional and helpful even in the face of demanding and testing situations.
This post provides technical support to the Environmental Protection Team within Environmental Services. This team delivers the Waste Collection and recycling service, Street Scene Services, and Environmental Health Pollution function.
To fit in with our team you will be ready for a challenge, able to work on your own initiative, and have a flexible approach to work. You must be a quick learner with literacy and numeracy skills (equivalent to GCSE grade C or above) and competent IT and customer service skills; ideally supported by recognised qualifications. It is essential that the successful applicant has excellent interpersonal skills and can demonstrate an organised and motivated approach to work.
