Responsible for supervising and co-ordinating the technical support for the Planning section, you will supervise a small team of Technical Clerks who are responsible for registering planning applications, preparation of site and press notices, and the generation of committee papers and presentation. You will need excellent communication skills to work across a range of people at all levels.
Under the direction of the Planning Support Manager and in liaison with the department’s Business Support team, you’ll be responsible for the management and development of the Uniform suite of modules.
With excellent organisational skills, you will be able to work on your own initiative and provide high quality technical support to managers and staff. You should therefore be self-motivated and have a strong commitment to service delivery. This is a varied role and you should have the ability to manage changing priorities, know how to motivate others and get the best out of people.
You’ll be the interface between the planning team and our IT department, so experience of MS Office and writing and generating reports from other databases is essential.
Knowledge of the Town and Country Planning System would also be beneficial, but not essential.
For an informal discussion, please contact Chris Page, Technical Support Manager, on 01344 351108 or Vincent Haines, Head of Development Management, on 01344 35 1145.
