The team is responsible for carrying out a range of Environmental Protection duties including:
· Regulation of emissions from industrial installations through LA-PPC and LA-IPPC
· Drafting and interpreting technical documents including permits and legal notices
· Investigation of pollution incidents and technical complaints in potential conflict situations
· Air quality monitoring including calibration, downloading and interpreting data, installation of monitoring stations
· Enforcement of environmental legislation with respect to air quality, contaminated land, and statutory nuisance from commercial premises including noise, odour, light and dust
The Council regulates approximately 100 industrial processes under the Integrated Pollution Prevention & Control (IPPC) regime in order to control emissions to air, land and water.
You will have a keen interest in environmental protection issues with particular expertise in the regulation of environmental legislation or experience of the PPC regime.
You must hold a BTec / HND in an environmental discipline or have proven relevant experience.
