Vacancies have arisen at the above Children’s Centre for the position of Room Leader. The Centre is situated within the grounds of Barton Moss Primary School, Brookhouse and offers high quality childcare places to children between the ages of birth to 5 years.An NVQ 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is essential for the post as is experience of working with young children and their families.Working under the day to day direction of the Deputy Nursery Manager and alongside the Education Lead Teacher the Room Leader will implement and deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage.Regular contributions to planning, recording and the updating of children’s Profiles will be required. The Room Leader is responsible for ensuring specialist programmes of care and Individual Education Plans are followed to promote children’s welfare and learning.The Room Leader will be responsible for the supervision of Senior Nursery Assistants, Nursery Assistants, volunteers and students within their room. Building and fostering good relationships with children, families and a range of other professionals is, along with signposting to other Centre services, a vital part of the Room Leader’s role.Children’s Centres are open all year round and operate between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday; all staff are requested to work a shift within these hours.Salford Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, volunteers and stakeholders to share this commitment.
