In February 2010 the school was placed in the category of Special Measures by Ofsted. We are now on the road to recovery as verified by HMI in November 2011. Due to restructuring we are looking to strengthen the leadership team through the addition of a SENCO.

Initially, this post will be based full time at the Junior School but will move to responsibility for SEN provision across both the Infant and Junior school in the near future, to ensure greater consistency for SEN provision across both schools. There will also be the opportunity for additional SEN professional development through links with The Willows Special School.
A key aspect of the SENCO role will be further developing the strategic role on the SLT, ensuring value for money and quality of provision for Thurcroft’s SEN children.
Informal visits around school will be on Tuesday 7 February from 2pm onwards and Wednesday 8th February, between 2:00 pm and 3:30 pm. The Headteacher will be available to show candidates round. Please telephone the school on 01709 543194 to arrange a visit.
It is essential that the successful applicant either holds or is willing to work towards the relevant qualifications needed for this role.
