TRANSPORT WORKSHOP SUPERVISOR

We are looking for a Transport Workshop Supervisor to work in our Transport Services Section based at Garth Road Depot, Lower Morden.
For the post of Transport Workshop Supervisor it is essential you have practical front line experience within a busy transport workshop environment, including experience of all associated maintenance services for a range of diverse specialist vehicles including refuse, street cleaning, passenger, light and heavy goods vehicles.
Previous experience within a transport workshop or similar environment is essential. Applicants must have relevant motor vehicle engineering experience and a full driving licence.
You will need to be well organised with good IT and communication skills and the ability to prioritise and allocate resources effectively. To be able to deal capably and patiently with staff, telephone, face- to- face and written complaints and queries from customers.
To supervise/participate in the Borough’s standby service and gritting service on a rota basis and be prepared to work flexibly within the needs of the service.
A high degree of common sense is essential.
