Subsidy/Liaison Officer

You will be responsible for the effective management of the DWP subsidy, including ensuring all internal controls and maximising benefit take-up. You will also act as first point of contact for the Audit Commission on issues around the annual audit.

As well as managing the Quality Assurance Officers to ensure we meet relevant targets, external liaison will be an important part of the role. This will include undertaking customer surveys, arranging landlord forums and meeting with SLA partners and voluntary groups.

You will have a minimum of five years experience in Benefits and/or Revenues in a customer-facing environment together with a good understanding of Council Tax and HB regulations (to include DWP subsidy). Experience of managing staff is also essential, as is a proven ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external users.

You will also have 5 GCSE’s, or equivalent, including Mathematics and English Language and ideally an IRRV Technician qualification. A willingness to study for this qualification is essential.
