Main Purpose Of Job
Located at the heart of the Thames Gateway, Medway Council is a unitary authority striving to achieve excellence in public service. We are looking to recruit to an experienced and professional Strategic Asset Manager within the Corporate Service’s division to :
Deliver the strategic asset management service for the council’s housing stock of over 3,000 units.
Develop and keep under review Medway Council’s Housing Asset Management Strategy and to manage the planned maintenance programme.
To develop the stock condition database and lead on the development of planned and cyclical maintenance and improvement programmes.
To establish and oversee tendering strategies for capital and revenue, responsive, planned and cyclical works that meet value for money and probity requirements.
To monitor the Council’s records and statutory certificates and to ensure that risk management methods and statutory compliance (e.g. Health and safety) are appropriate, applied and monitored.
To develop and implement strategies to reduce long-term maintenance costs including standardisation of components and specifications.
